KODAK TRUPER Series Bring High Levels of Productivity and Image Quality to Low Volume Production Capture Space
Rochester, NY, February 16 -- Kodak continues to innovate in the low-volume production scanning space by helping users to achieve high levels of productivity and image quality for digitizing their paper records. The TRUPER Series Scanners are the first scanners to carry the Kodak name since the acquisition of the BÖWE BELL + HOWELL scanner division in 2009. New models include the KODAK TROOPER 3610 and the KODAK TRUPER 3210. Built on the same platform as the highly successful TRUPER 3200 and 3600 scanners, the new models offer increased throughput and feature enhancements. The 3610 model packs exceptional power into a compact, rotary-only scanner. The 3210 model features an automatic document feeder as well as a flatbed for scanning fragile or bound pages.
“The introduction of the enhanced KODAK TRUPER Series Scanners represents exciting new gains in the low-volume production scanning space,” said Tony Barbeau, General Manager, Document Imaging, Kodak’s Business Solutions and Services Group. “Mid-to-large sized organizations are often challenged with capturing a more diverse range of documents, to meet specific business needs. A large, specialized department like payroll might receive new paper-based information on a daily, or even an hourly basis, and requires fast, accurate digitization, to keep the overall business running efficiently. The TRUPER Series Scanners provide a valuable solution that expedites and streamlines these processes.”
The powerful speeds of the TRUPER Series Scanners, at 90 pages per minute (180 images per minute) in black-and white, color or grayscale and a daily duty cycle of 15,000 pages, make it ideal for increasing productivity in businesses across many industries such as healthcare, government, financial and insurance markets. For service bureaus, the TROOPER Series Scanners provide a reliable option for overflow projects and exception documents such as older, fragile papers or data from bound documents. Through a number of image processing enhancements found in these latest TRUPER Series Scanners, businesses can easily maintain greater integrity of data with the crisp, clean images that are captured, without compromising time.
Flexible enough to accommodate a wide range of documents and forms, the TRUPER Series Scanners boast an ADF with independently selectable guides that holds 200 pages and scans images up to 11.9” X 100” in size. Users can capture forms and records of “unlimited length” in long document mode, including documents such as EKGs, oil well logs and fetal monitor strips. The switchable background bar allows optimal flexibility to support additional document types.
Ultrasonic multi-feed detection catches double-feeds automatically so rescanning the batch is not needed. With Multi-Feed Ignore technology, the user can adjust settings to allow envelopes or documents with attached photos or sticky notes to pass through without stopping. These features reduce extra steps needed to separate documents, thereby reducing rescans and document preparation time. An optional, easy-to-use pre-scan imprinter is also available.
The exceptional levels of image quality in the TRUPER Series Scanners help businesses achieve greater accuracy of scanned information. High quality images are captured at up to 600 dpi. Coupling that with Advanced Color Dropout Technology allows users to simultaneously remove up to six custom colors in a multicolor document to ensure optimal OCR, ICR and barcode recognition. Packaged with KOFAX VRS 4.5 Professional image enhancement software for crisp, clean images, the TRUPER Series Scanners come equipped with features such as Auto Color Detect, Blank Page Deletion and Auto Orientation to reduce prep time and operator intervention. Ultimately, these features lead to a reduced total cost of scanning.
“Through their ease of use, versatile document handling and exceptional image enhancement qualities, the new KODAK TRUPER 3610 and KODAK TRUPER 3210 Scanners can help companies quickly and accurately convert paper files into usable, structured electronic information,” said Jackie Horn, Worldwide Marketing Director, Document Imaging, Kodak’s Business Solutions and Services Group. “Businesses can readily solve their workflow process challenges, and ultimately generate greater productivity.”
The TRUPER Series Scanners require minimal maintenance, with user-replaceable rollers and long-life bulbs. The KODAK TRUPER 3610 and KODAK TRUPER 3210 have U.S. list prices of $6,995, and $8,495, respectively. To learn more about the KODAK TRUPER Series, visit www.kodak.com/go/docimaging.
